Biography

Mohammad Tauseef, MPharm, Ph.D., R.Ph., is a pharmacologist, biomedical researcher and licensed pharmacist with expertise in cardiovascular and pulmonary pharmacology. He earned his Ph.D. in pharmacology, specializing in cardiovascular pharmacology, from the University of Delhi in India. He received his Master of Pharmacy and Bachelor of Pharmacy from Hamdard University in New Delhi.

Tauseef completed postdoctoral training in the Department of Pharmacology and Regenerative Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, where he later served as a research faculty member. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms regulating vascular endothelial barrier function, pulmonary inflammation, and acute lung injury.

His work investigates calcium signaling pathways, transient receptor potential channels, and sphingosine kinase signaling in vascular endothelial cells and their roles in cardiopulmonary disease. His research aims to identify signaling pathways that may serve as potential therapeutic targets for vascular inflammation and cardiopulmonary disorders.

Tauseef’s research has been supported by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and the American Heart Association. He has authored more than 25 peer-reviewed publications and scholarly book chapters in leading journals including Journal of Experimental Medicine, Cell Reports, Circulation Research, and FASEB Journal, contributing to the understanding of endothelial signaling mechanisms in vascular injury and inflammatory diseases.

In addition to his research activities, Tauseef has extensive experience in pharmacology education and mentoring. He served as assistant professor and later associate professor of pharmacology at Chicago State University, where he taught in the PharmD curriculum and supervised student research in cardiovascular pharmacology, endothelial biology and diabetes-associated vascular dysfunction.

He has received multiple teaching honors, including the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching and several “Teacher of the Year” awards from PharmD students.
