Biography

Dr. Parkkonen is a lifelong Michigan native who completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, medical school at Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine, and was chief resident of the family medicine residency at Central Michigan University. He is engaged with resident and student education through state-level committees and has presented research on improvement of residency training. His clinical interest is in hospital medicine and he works as a full-time academic hospitalist with the CMU family medicine residents. He holds professional memberships with the American Academy of Family Physicians as well as the Society of Hospital Medicine.
