Biography

Dr. “Jay” is an associate professor of internal medicine and nocturnist with the internal medicine residency at CMU. He earned his BS in microbiology with Honor from Michigan State University in 1991. He spent his early career in the then-burgeoning biotechnology sector. He accepted a position doing Cystic Fibrosis research in the Infectious Diseases Division of Children’s Hospital in Seattle, which led to a desire to attend medical school. He attended the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington 1998-2002, followed by a residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center also in Seattle. Clinical interests include antibiotic stewardship, blood dyscrasias, and polypharmacy in the elderly.
