Billing and Insurance
The CMU Student Health Services Billing office staff is here and ready to help you with your questions related to medical billing and health insurance.
CMU Heath will bill any insurance – however, we do not “participate” with every insurance, and we are not “in-network” with every insurance.
It is always the patient’s responsibility to know exactly how their insurance company will process claims from CMU Health. Patients should call the number on the back of their insurance card and ask questions about coverage and benefits while they are away from home.
Contact your insurance company prior to your appointment and ask if you need a pre-authorization before visiting our clinic. After insurance companies process CMU Health charges, patients then become responsible for any remaining balance. A statement will be mailed directly to the patient from CMU Health. Prompt payment is expected.
Did you know that you can now pay your bill through the MyChart patient portal? Log in or create an account to learn more.
A copay is expected at the time of service.
